The Award Ceremony of the RSSU Chess Cup, Moscow Open 2015 winners and medalists was held on Sunday, Feb 8. Entered the scene to congratulate the most successful participants of the competition were: Natalia Pochinok, rector of the University; Evgeny Bushmin, deputy chairman of the Federation Council of the RF Federal Assembly; Nikolay Gulyaev, deputy chairman of the Moscow Department of Physical Education and Sport; Nikita Kim, 1st vice-president of the Moscow Chess Federation; Alexey Ivanov, chairman of the PricewaterhouseCoopers auditing company; and Oleg Zhuravsky, honorary president of the Liga Stavok bookmaker company.
Over the course of the ceremony the organizing committee awarded the Moscomsport Management of Sports and Entertainment Events by the Moscow Government – the longstanding organizers of the RSSU Moscow Open Cup, as well as the partners of the festival – the PricewaterhouseCoopers company management, the Sberbank of Russia and the Liga Stavok bookmaker company with special honorary awards.
Former president of the European Chess Union Boris Kutin, on behalf of this organization, awarded the RSSU Moscow Open Cup director, Alexander Kostiev, with a special badge of honor. He commended the longstanding contribution of Alexander Nikolaevich into the school chess development.
“The chess tournament with the biggest ever number of participants was held in the RSSU,” Natalia Pochinok addressed to the participants of the Moscow Open. “Today we have a chance to look to the future. And to wish all of us to meet next year in the Russian State Social University at an even bigger, more interesting and more attractive chess festival of the RSSU Moscow Open 2016 Cup.”
Ms. Pochinok thanked all the sponsors and partners of the festival and announced the RSSU Moscow Open 2015 Cup closed.
