The RSSU School Champions’ Cup Is Approaching Equator

Four rounds of the RSSU School Champions’ Cup are over. The competitions are held in four age groups (for boys and girls) and constitute the qualification to the 2016 World School Chess Championship (Sousse, Tunisia, April 30 – May 8, 2016). The winners of the respective age groups will be provided with the gratis hospitality (accommodation and meals).

In the U9 Boys’ group Alexander Shmatov (Bryansk), Gleb Pidluzhny (Klaipeda, Lithuania), Matfey Rogov (Korolev), Zaali Gvaramia (both from Moscow),  Denis Grunin (Korolev), Egor Yaurov (Voronezh) and Leonid Lystsov (Ryatigorsk) suffer no losses. Four participants are half a point behind the leaders.

Alexandra Shvedova (Moscow) and Darya Zaytseva (Dolgoprudny) gained 4 points in the same age group of the Girls’ tournament. Samra Gasymova (Fizuli, Azerbaijan) is half a step behind.

Alexander Kataev (Apatity), Miron Maklin, Matvei Mishuris, Vadim Kondratiev (all from Moscow), Vladimir Tretyakov (Izhevsk) and Bulat Gabitov (Kazan) show a 100% result in the U11 Boys’ tournament. Five chess players scored 3,5 points.

Margarita Ershova (Naberezhnye Chelny), Daria Bondareva (Moscow) and Evdokia Izbekova (Borogontsy) are leading with 4 points in the group of U11 Girls. Ksenia Pargesyan (Moscow) and Ulyana Lebedeva (Kostroma) scored half a point less. 

Damir Ismagilov (St. Petersburg) and Melis Tadevosyan (Moscow) haven’t lost their games so far in the U13 Boys’ tournament. Seven participants are behind the leading group with half a point less.

Alexandra Afanasyeva, Kira Davydova, Natalia Vyrtosu, Lada Ilina (all from Moscow), Marta Voskresenskaya (Surgut), Asel Lesbekova (Astana, Kazakhastan) and Alisa Kokueva (Sakhalin region) with 3,5 points are leading in the U13 Girls’ group. Seven participants gained half a point less.

Dmitry Bichun (Minsk, Belarus), Vasily Burkhanov (Moscow), Dmitry Kirillov (Ivanovo), Anatoly Moskvin (Pushkino) and Daniel Gasparyan (Sukhumi) scored 3,5 points in the U15 Boys’ tournament. Six more chess players have 3 points. 

The sole leader is defined in the group of senior girls – Galina Krapivina with 4 points. Yulia Kondakova with 3,5 points occupies the second place (both girls represent Perm).

Participants have to pass five more rounds of the competitions.
