Saturday, February 6 in the Russian State Social University the results of the RSSU Student Cup, the first ever tournament held under the umbrella of the Student Chess League within the frames of the Moscow Open festival were announced. The competitions were played in 9 rounds in three ranking categories, in the individual and the team events.
The gold medals in the team event were won by the students of the Far Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok) Danila Sutormin and Viktoria Chkhan. Together they managed to score 13,5 of possible 18 points. The team of the North Eastern Federal University (Yakutsk) became a silver medalist, its representatives Ruslan Pahomov and Tuyara Adamova scored 12 points. The bronze was won by the students of the South Federal University (Rostov-on-Don) Alexander Chernyavsky and Eleonora Filipskaya. They earned 11,5 points and according to the additional index outran the teams of the Belgorod State Technological University (Belgorod) and the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (St. Petersburg), having the same result.
Danila Sutormin (Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok) with 7,5 of possible 9 points became the winner in the overall ranking and in the category of chess players ranked under 2300 in the FIDE Ranking. Ruslan Pahomov (North Eastern Federal University, Yakutsk) with 7 points won a silver medal. He also left behind three chess players according to the additional index. The bronze belongs to Alexander Chernyavsky (South Federal University, Rostov-on-Don). Alexej Lojko (Belgorod State Technological University, Belgorod) and Kirill Kayukov (Moscow State University, Moscow) remained behind the medal winners.
Olga Belova (Volga Region State Academy of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism, Kazan) with 6 points became the first in the same ranking group among girls. Viktoria Chkhan showed the same result but was ranked second according to the additional ranking. Viktoria Kobozeva (Moscow State Linguistic University, Moscow) with 5,5 points was awarded with the bronze medal.
In the group of chess players ranked under 2000 the first place now belongs to Mikhail Subbotsky (Russian University of Economics, Moscow) – 6 points in the overall ranking. Daniil Korobitsyn (State Marine Technical University of St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg) with 5 points clinched the second place, and the third line of the final table is occupied by Kirill Protasov (Russian Satate Hydrometeorological University, St. Petersburg) with 5 points.
In the same group among girls the victory was celebrated by Elena Orshonova (RSSU, Moscow) with 6 points. Ludmila Leolko (Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism, Moscow) with 5,5 points became a silver medalist, and Elizaveta Chetina (Higher School of Economics, Moscow) with 5 points won a bronze medal.
Stanislav Davidenko (Moscow Technological University, Moscow) celebrated victory in the group of players ranked under 1700. He finished with 4,5 scored points. The second place belongs to Sergey Sevastiyanov (RSSU, Moscow) with 4 points, and the third – to Nikita Tereschenko (Moscow Technological University) with 2 points.
In the same girls’ group the students from the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship took the priority: Maria El Kader (4,5 points) became first, the second place belongs to Stripatchi Srinidzhi (4 points) and the third – to Anastasia Todua (3 points).
We should mark, the chess players ranked first in their ranking groups as among young men, so as among your women, received grants for the participation in the World Amateur Chess Championships that will be held in Eretria, Greece from April 18 to 28, 2016. The prize fund of the tournament constitutes of 600.000 rubles.
